The Meaning of Feathers and the beliefs and culture of Native American Indian tribes


The Meaning of Feathers plays an important role in the belief system of Native American Indians. Their beliefs are based on Animism which embodies the spiritual idea that all natural things within the universe, including birds, have souls or spirits. Animists believe that souls or spirits exist, not only in humans, but also in birds, their feathers and in animals, plants, rocks and natural phenomena. The doctrine of animism is that everything is alive, and possesses an inherent virtue, power and wisdom.


The Meaning of Feathers


The generalized meaning of feathers signified honor & connected the owner with the Creator and the bird the feathers came from. Native Indian warriors were awarded a feather when they took coup or were particularly brave in battle. When a feather falls to earth, the Native Americans believe it carries all of the energy of its former attachment on a bird to a living being. Feathers are perceived as gifts from the sky, the sea and the trees. Feathers arrive unexpectedly, but not without purpose.

 Birds were revered as bringers of messages and symbols of change and often symbolized light-hearted freedom and their feathers have many spiritual, ceremonial & ritual uses. Decorated feathers were sometimes attached to sacred pipes or prayer sticks. In the ancient culture and traditions of Native Americans the meaning of feathers are inextricably tied to the belief that birds, as spirit guides, walk through different stages of life with a person, teaching and guiding them, and in some instances protecting them.


The meaning of birds and their feathers are of great significance as they are believed to possess supernatural powers that can embody, attach and influence a person empowering them with the powerful traits, attributes and characteristics of the bird. Sertraline/Venlafaxine/citalopram/mirtazapine/fluoxetine/escitalopram/klonopin/buspirone/abilify the list goes on!


So if you're unlucky enough to know what these tablets are, then I don't have to describe to you what this post is regarding. But if you don't I will fill you in.


That medication allows people to deal with a normal day to day life. Although most days it leaves them tired, spaced out and emotionless. Crazy right? 🤷🏼‍♀️Why would anyone want to feel like that. Well this is why.


You see some people suffer from depression and anxiety. 


In their brain it doesn't sit right, something seems different. They notice little differences that 'normal' people wouldn't notice. 


That comment you didn't tag them in, but you tagged other people? They see that, and say to themselves why didn't you tag me? What's up with me? 


You read that message they sent and they see that you did, but you didn't reply.. why didn't you reply? And they feel like they have done something to upset you? 


You didn't say I love you on the phone.. do you not love them anymore? Do you love someone else instead? 


They just made a comment about them was it a joke? Was that person supposed to laugh? Or did they mean it? Are they being nice? Are they talking about them? Do they talk about them? And they then think I bet they don’t like me really. 


They say sorry all the time. They feel like they annoy everyone. Are you mad at me? Because they feel like you’re mad at them ALL.THE.TIME!


And for all those questions they will spend hours trying to answer. Let it all build up in their mind, until it sends them to tears... it's mental isn't it! They see things that way. 


It's not only mental changes, but physical changes. They don't eat a lot, mainly rubbish, because they need it now and need the energy from lack of sleep. Insomnia, up all night answering questions to situations that don't even exist, or sleep too much and waste half their day still feeling tired. 


They still smile and they have every excuse for when you ask why.


But the tablets can help them. 


Because they know when they start to feel this way or think this way,  they need help. 


They know that when their behaviour starts to change, they need guidance. 


And they understand that they don't need to be ashamed. They don't need to be understood. They just need to be accepted. Everyone is fighting a battle and sometimes you need to be kinder. 


So I may just be another person who's talking about mental health. Living with this illness is hard, but trying to understand it, is even harder.


Don't suffer in silence.❤

Creating Healthy Habits

Old habits are hard to break. Your focus has to be to take charge of our wellness. The key is the power to break bad habits is you. The person that made it.

Once your mind begins to pay attention, your brain can build new neural power to reinforce what you learn. It's the brain ability to change and adapt. Applying discipline, good intentions, and mindfulness. has the power to create the change. Your strengths and motivation to help yourself remain committed to wellness.

Set your goals by baselining your health: Is taking control of your well-being is to set a reasonable goal. Gather so basic information like your health and weight, exercise habits, diet, and stress levels.

How do I actually set my goals. start thinking about the big picture, changing your lifestyle. You need a strong vision of what you want to achieve in order to succeed.

Make a list of your weaknesses and your strengths. You cant attack all once it will have to be in small goals to achieve the big goal.

Identify Harmful patterns Change your negative habits

Forming new habits takes repetition and focus, if your attention elsewhere may harder time in adjusting  new behaviors.

Planning your changes is big change it (could be stressful period ). Wrong your more likely will have set backs.

Visualizing Your desired out come is a useful tool in your journey. Seeing yourself has you wish helps achieve your goals.

Learn to rewrite your mind.

It takes about 66 days to get new habits.

Mainting your positive mental attitude

The goal in life should be to feel good. Having a positive mental attitude  way to meet this goal.

What way to change  your circumstances?

What's going on in this world?

What are other people doing?

The real thing you should be worrying about is tending to your own mind and thoughts. If you feel your at dead job, or want to do something different in your life. You should plan at exactly like how would you succeed. Set a goal. Decide what you want to do, the position or title you want, the money you want to make.

Give your wants and desires time limit (two years , five years) paint this picture what you desire and hold that thought has long has you can.
visualize it often.

Train yourself to have positive mental attitude it's not hard has you think. It's the way with your word and your actions makes you feel.

We are all meant to be successful, receive all that we want and desire. Thinking negatively will hold you back from obtaining your goals that you want,

Our way of thinking is a reflection of everything that you have attracted in your life.

Our thoughts are the only thing that you control. Practice positive mental attitude is the first step in changing your life for the better.

Life is what you make of it, learn from your lesson. The good and the bad. strive to make to make your life better.

When you have good thoughts you will attract good things into your life. Maintaining a positive mental attitude will help on your path to achieving all that you desire.

Positive Mental Attitude

For years, I wasn't happy. I was stuck in repeating day after day nothing changed. I felt unfulfilled unmotivated like nothing to live for no purpose in life and wanted more in life then this. When I almost died I looked around me, I begin to question my whys what was my pattern and what did I want to be and do with my life.

I'm very big spiritual person read lots of books about it. I back to it bring clarity to your mind, see things clearly. It woke me up again

You have to except the what is in life. So how do I make that choice.

Remember you are the powerful. Most of the time we have no idea what we are doing or supposed to be doing. We play roles and cover up our true selves defying who we really are. and that's what makes us sad and unhappy in our true self. Is that who I want to be?

The truth is its none of theses things, these are symptoms of sleepwalking disease. We are way more important then a label. We our not our professions, our feelings our circumstances even our minds.

Far more importuned, far more mysterious than our conceptual mind tries to define us. This is what we are far more powerful than we think we are.

Choose to embrace life. let go embrace the moment. If it contains obstacle or opportunity stop fussing start focusing on what's is really important to you.

Don't go through life think things will change and be handed to you. Life will become hard  and unfair. we decide to complain about things. rather then try and sole them.

Be bold and courageous, make the decisions that benefit your growth. put yourself on death bed life stands still you realize life stands still to no one. Start as soon has possible make the necessary changes that you need to do in your life.

Realize that you control your reactions. We create our reality by thoughts and beliefs. we maintain about our life, what we believe in our inner world, we see the outer world not our in our outer world- not the other way around.

We all have circumstances outside of our control, we may not be able to control but we can control how our reactions to those situations.

We have power, influence we allow the outer world to have on us.

Know that no one is better qualified. We place to much on what people think about us. Often to the exclusion of our own. That takes away from our personal power

Stop identifying with other people options . Become more a wear of how you see yourself. no one knows you better then you.  Always believe you can  achieve anything and you  put your mind to. Most important never  let another person option affect what you believe about yourself.

Love yourself. Everything you need is right here just open your eye see everything  you need is right here in your possession.

Stay cool  if someone cuts off traffic  you may feel your blood pressure begin to rise  but don't let another person  behavior punish yourself.

Journey well  Life about journey not the arrival. be content with where you are today and don't make the mistake putting of happy.
